Overview

The Podilsk Urban Territorial Community is located in southern Ukraine in the Odesa region and includes the city of Podilsk and the villages of Lypetske, Oleksandrivka, and Kazbeky. Podilsk, the largest city in northern Odesa region, serves as the administrative center of the Podilsk district, with a population of 42,657 (as of 01.01.2022). This community benefits from a strategic geographic location with extensive transportation infrastructure, including railway and road transport. It is 199 km by railway and 219 km by road from Odesa, which has a sea trade port and international airport, and 122 km from the Chisinau airport in Moldova.

The Eco-industrial park “South” is designed around circular economy principles, industrial symbiosis, and member synergy to support sustainable economic development with ecological compliance. Key features of the park include:

  • Land area: 37.3904 hectares, with 11.02 hectares designated for primary and auxiliary buildings and facilities for processing, machine-building, and other industries.
  • Functions and activities: The park supports a range of economic activities including:
    • Processing industries (food production, wood processing, furniture manufacturing, non-metallic mineral products, fabricated metal products, machinery, and equipment).
    • Scientific and technological activities, focusing on high-tech production, innovation, energy-saving technologies, and involving research institutions, IT companies, and business accelerators.

Head of Community Overview

Oleg Albanskyi serves as the Secretary of the Podilsk City Council for the Podilsk District of the Odesa region and has been the Acting Mayor of Podilsk City since March 2022.
